1. Apologies

2. Adoption of previous minutes

The minutes from the previous meeting of 14 June 2010 were agreed and adopted.

3. Matters arising

Matters arising formed substantive agenda items.

4. Correspondence

A letter has been received from Riki Hyde-Chambers; formerly of the IABP in relation to a new organization he has established, Enterprise and Parliamentary Dialogue International. Correspondence has been noted

5. Membership applications:

Fourteen applications for membership of the Trust were considered and approved. The new business members are Barista Coffee House, Business and Finance Media, Casa Lola, Centre for Competitiveness NI Ltd, Construction Employers Federation, Habitat for Humanity NI, Island Regeneration Ltd, JPR NI Ltd, Kim Johnston Executive Search Limited, Lumen Financial Planning, Magowan Tyres NI Ltd, Rio/Brazil, Rockport Ventures LLP and Women in Business NI Ltd.

The Chair briefed the Board on recent and planned NIABT events, a summary is included below:

13 August: Simon Hamilton Fellowship with La Mon Hotel.

26 August: Simon Hamilton Fellowship with Firmus Energy.

7. Press coverage:

Press clippings covering Simon Hamilton’s summer recess fellowships with La Mon Hotel and Firmus Energy were noted.

8. NIABT Review

A report on the review of the Business Trust was approved by the Board. This document will provide a steer for an NIABT Business Plan which will be developed and signed off before 1 January 2011.

9. European Programme

The next European Programme in Brussels is planned for 29 November to 2 December 2010. Invitations have been issued to business and parliamentarians last week.

10. A.O.B.

The Board felt that it would be beneficial to consider forging links with the IPT in Westminster and the SPBE in Edinburgh. The Board will consider identifying a potential keynote speaker for the President’s Dinner in February 2011.

The date for the next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held on Monday 8 November at 5:00 p.m. in Room 21.
